Le Conseil de Paris soutient la démarche de 17 historiens (J.-.P. Azéma, A. Becker, B. Gerermek, J. Le Goff, R. Rémond, M. Ozouf etc.) demandant le transfert des cendres de Marc Bloch au Panthéon.

Fondateur, avec Lucien Febvre, de l'école des Annales, qui a ouvert des champs nouveaux à l'histoire, Marc Bloch a également été un grand résistant et un intellectuel important. Il a été fusillé par la Gestapo près de Lyon en 1944.
